When You Work for the Toddler-in-Chief

You sound like the Toddler-in-Chief:

“But this is a virus that came from China,” he continued. “Something that’s unexpected. Obviously when you’re in the political world, there are those things that you can control, there are those things that you can’t.”

Waaahhh!  Mean old China did this to us!  It's not our fault!  It's not our fault!  I'm trying to imagine LBJ blaming Vietnam for our losses and inability to accomplish anything of lasting value in the war.   Or anybody on his staff, speaking for the Administration.

“The president shut down the economy to try to mitigate the damage,” he added. [Narrator:  no, he didn't.  The states did that.]   “You mentioned masks. Obviously, we all want to do whatever we can do to stop this and wearing masks where there’s not the ability to social distance is one additional thing that we can do.”  [Narrator:  Trump still won't wear one, and is never seen practicing "social distancing" with anyone.]

Meadows, however, argued that masks are mandatory in southern Florida “and yet they continue to see this virus escalate and so we’re not going to have a solution to this.” [Narrator:  that's because a DeSantis followed Trump's lead, rather than Fauci's.]

“It’s not masks, it’s not shutting down the economy,” he added. “It is American ingenuity that will allow for therapies and vaccines to ultimately conquer this.” [Narrator:  And until then, 149,000 dead is a small price to pay.  Because we can't control it, after all.  Did he mention it's not our fault?]
