Nobody said the officer was quoting the suspect. He was paraphrasing the suspect.Literally the first words in the clip I posted are “the investigators interviewed him this morning.” The key point is that the cop’s words were his own—he wasn’t quoting anyone— & the explanation he offered parroted the shooter’s motive. Anybody who would ask that question would probably say he’d just had a bad day. And I think people do kill people because they had a bad day. It’s not an excuse, it’s a reason. I wonder if for a lot of people his beard without a mustache is a bigger problem than that he murdered eight people for clearly racist motives. I would bet he looses it for trial.
