People who try to follow Jesus are not going to be able to avoid the fact that a very large percentage of those who claim to are absolutely not and that it's always been so. A lot of them are full on pagans who have adopted a bizarre comic book view of Jesus as an Aryan super-hero, sort of like what the Nazis wanted to turn him into. Flynn definitely, if he has any use for Jesus at all, sees him that way. I blame a lot of it on Augustine but he can't shoulder all of the blame.
