Same energy. Completely different issues. 

Trump is not an escape artist. He’s just a mouthy guy who was never as significant as his mouth made him seem. Then he became POTUS. And we, quite correctly, treat Presidents differently.

We expect Presidents to respect the rule of law. So, yes, we respond more slowly, more carefully, when a President disregards the rule of law. We do that to assure the rule of law is respected.

Rapid response in circumstances involving positions of power is not necessarily due process of law. Too delayed a response can be a denial of due process, too. But that’s a very different discussion than the one Twitter is having.
