Well, maybe not all reporters:Lawyers are giggling at Trump's motion, and how poorly it was done, but note that it is receiving respectful coverage from the press. Reporters are writing up Trump's allegations and requests because they appeared in a legal filing; what Trump alleged and what he wants is "news."

Trump is to some extent walking on phantom limbs of his expired presidency, claiming a privilege he no longer has and acting as if he has an infrastructure he no longer does, conflating PR w legal responses, @glennthrush @alanfeuer me https://t.co/Zb86bnUI3n

"Despite the bravura, Mr. Trump has betrayed anxiety in private conversations about where this is all leading, people who have spoken to him say." https://t.co/Zb86bnUI3n

And about the documents improperly had:He has used the same playbook over and over when investigated. His aides say his supporters see an FBI search as something easy to process and condemn. But improperly having boxes of classified material is also something that breaks through to voters. https://t.co/Zb86bnUI3n

Let’s add WaPo, too:So when NARA says that the January recovery of 15 boxes contained more than 100 documents marked classified but that it amounted to more than 700 pages, that's why. The more than 300 figure could comprise well over 1,000 pages. https://t.co/6CyJCPEJaE

I freely admit some of this reporting is prompted by the judge’s ruling today; but narratively speaking, there’s blood in the water, and the way is open to laughing at Trump’s playbook instead of admiring it. Inevitably, people get tired of the same old story. So stunning is this tale of incompetence and derangement that it actually would serve as a fitting coda to Donald J. Trump’s life as a free man. https://t.co/Rj6qFtJ5qa
