He'll need more than the silence of some gutless office holders to "regain power." If he wins election again, then the fear is what he will do with the power of the presidency. If he doesn't, what coup does he stage to "regain power," and who helps him?Trump’s posts represent an escalation in his attacks on American institutions — one that scholars say must be heeded as a sign of how far he is willing to go to regain power. https://t.co/UhNwMwxXTP

Since 2015 Trump has proven himself unfit to hold public office. If you don't see that by now, you never will. I think a large majority of Americans realize that; but if it's not on Twitter, does it make a noise?
I don't mean to diminish how bad Trump's statements are, for a guy who wants to hold office again. But because of them are judges really going to walk away from their benches, cops and soldiers lay down their arms and give up, teachers and governors and mayors and city councils and school boards just quit, muttering "Game over, man! Game over!"? Just because of something stupid Trump says, and keeps saying? When is that apocalypse finally going to happen?
Trump may be willing to do whatever it takes to regain power, but the ultimate question is: who's going to give it to him? We give power to elected officials (or employed ones, like teachers) so they will serve us. They don't take the power by insisting on idiotic conspiracy theories and stating them publicly over and over again. And the moment that does happen, it will be "GAME OVER!"
But it's not going to happen anytime soon.
