JUST IN: DOJ searched Biden’s Wilmington home last night, the White House reveals. pic.twitter.com/BxjsI2ZiJq

Neither the WH statement nor the one from the president’s personal attorney seem to make clear whether this search was court-authorized or subject to some kind of non-voluntary warrant/legal process.

UPDATE: A White House official confirms this search was not the subject of a warrant or court-authorized process. Totally voluntary.

This search was yesterday. These reports are coming today. And they are incomplete and fragmentary, answering all possible questions in more than one statement! Where’s the transparency? Why weren’t these statements released before midnight Friday? Why was the search conducted under cover of darkness? Why did Biden cooperate? What is he up to? Who planned and consented to this search? Why don’t we know yet?The DOJ official, Assistant US attorney Joseph Fitzpatrick, is a spokesman for US Attorney John Lausch, who is still leading the Biden documents probe until special counsel Robert Hur is ready to take the reins.

Yeah, what’s that all about?Words with meanings? pic.twitter.com/BJla0eGV1Q

VERY peculiar behavior! More transparency is definitely required! Biden is still not being forthcoming enough!I don't understand why the Biden people are voluntarily giving access to investigators instead of stonewalling and lying and screaming "WITCH HUNT" and calling the investigators Gestapo and bringing frivolous lawsuits against them.

Six more documents? That Biden didn’t know he had? 12 more hours of silence gives the NYT even more to Whitewater about.NEW: Special Counsel Robert Hur has not started yet & I am told FBI search of President Biden residence was overseen by US Atty John Lausch who oversaw the initial review of this matter. DOJ spox tells me,”We expect Rob Hur to be on board shortly.” https://t.co/80VjSYsHyM

But…but…but…transparency!4) Trump should be indicted, because whatever Biden did or didn't do, it has nothing to do with what Trump did, which we already know. https://t.co/73NdTojvmZ

This cooperation is bad for Biden. And back to his Senate days? Is anybody keeping track of classified documents? Or is everything in government that isn’t in the Federal Register a classified document? This is obviously problematic for Biden, but based on what we know now, it still appears he has no criminal jeopardy based on existing case law and DOJ standards.

Biden's lawyers appear to agree, given that they consented to a search instead of requiring DOJ to get a warrant. https://t.co/596CirK1kV
Legal exposure? Who cares about that? What matters is what the pundits have to “harumph” about now!Six more classified documents were just discovered at Biden’s house

Want to understand what that means for his legal exposure?@rgoodlaw @AWeissmann_ & I looked at DOJ precedent for the answer 👉https://t.co/yCdHTQQDLn
SEE???!!!???Media: @eliehonig to @PamelaBrownCNN: "By all appearances, @JoeBiden's team is trying to cooperate, but ... trying to cooperate doesn't wipe the slate clean. The more documents are found in more locations, the tougher and tougher it gets to write this off as an accident." pic.twitter.com/Ere9B2ACC3
