I See Stupid People

Turns out Walter Isaacson has a serious credibility problem.

Which, tbh, can be said of Elmo, too. But why are there so many gullible people around them?

That one I can’t answer.

BTW, Trump now says he campaigned before “massive crowds” in Iowa and South Dakota. No mention of this reception in Iowa, though:

Does sitting in a luxury box at a football stadium constitute campaigning to a massive crowd?

And while we’re on the subject, Mark Cuban takes Vivek Ramaswamy to school. It’s stupid to take even Trump seriously this early (yes, he’s leading the polls, but I’m a contrarian who doesn’t think polls replace actual elections).  Ramaswamy is a joke who’s only getting attention because of the first debate. Still, it’s fun to read Cuban batting him around.

Molly Ivins once compared being attacked (verbally) by a politician (Gingrich, I think), to being gummed by a newt. Mostly, she said, it just left her ankle slimy. Much as I dislike Abbott, he must feel the same way:
Has the Governor of Texas done anything to stop it? No. He's got a National Guard. He's the Commander in Chief. It is Texas, so they're all large. And they have double stack magazines in their sidearms. You think they couldn't stop that in a week? Just assemble on the border. But he won't do it."
He then disclosed that he had private conversations with Abbott urging him to do so. "I've suggested it to him three times, including in private at cocktail party in Dallas last year ... If someone is trying to break into my house, it's not complicated to repel the person. Do you have a firearm or don't you?"
"Greg Abbott. Liar, liar. Worse than that - a betrayer of your own people."

Yes, it’s disgusting. But what is Tucker’s audience these days? I’m pretty sure more people are following the daily testimony in the Paxton impeachment trial.
