When your segment on what happened in NH yesterday is: here’s who endorsed who and here are some poll results, then you are just terrible and incompetent. Plenty happened. Plenty that voters should see and know about. But non-substantive horserace stuff is king.

MTP this morning sets up an hour of: “Horse race, HORSE RACE, HORSE RACE!” The “tease” doesn’t mention any of Trump’s insane comments in NH over the past two days. Their lead is Kornacke and then Gov. Sununu fluffing Nikki Haley and her “Big Mo.”

They do promise to cover Trump’s claims he must have immunity, but apparently only because Nikki Haley is attacking him for it.

Of course, when Welker plays the moment Trump said Nikki Haley wouldn’t ask for National Guard protection on J6, Sununu won’t say Trump is incapable of being President. He then claims Trump’s statement on immunity is something everyone who should be worried about, but he’d still support Trump because “this is how bad Biden has been.”

Which is why Sununu is not a national political figure. And a profile in Jell-O.

So there is that.

BTW: Iowa has 3 million people. New Hampshire has 1.4 million people. And primaries don’t guarantee victory in November. New Hampshire clings desperately to its “first primary in the nation” status. And after Tuesday…

In the panel, Welker brings up Trump’s racist birther attacks on Haley, and then they discuss…how this affects the horse race.🏇 

Maybe we could ask a Republican Senator, Member of Congress, or Governor if they agree w/Trump’s position that a president should have absolute immunity for any crime committed while in office. Maybe we could at least do that if we don’t do our homework on his policy proposals.

And watch them weasel like Gov. Sununu did? Reality always refuses to work out like the movies.
