I've read it's fewer than ten across the country. Republicans need a new focus of hate every election cycle, trans kids are just their latest. Black People and Brown People are always useful for that, even when their candidate is Black. South Carolina is part of the perpetually white supremacist powers in the country, from the time before the Constitution was adopted, they insisted on some of the most anti-democratic features of the thing as a condition of joining the new country.
