So Democrats should retake the Congress, and emulate the Republicans.

The Ds will have to do a little of everything which will probably result in not enough of anything.
ReplyDeleteAlthough if you're in the right (wrong?) place you can find a lot of people saying they won't get the chance because Trump is going to either monkeywrench the elections or straightup ignore the results.
I'm slowly beginning to realize I can't see how *any* of this works for either party. It's like a magic 8-ball that only has variations on "situation unclear- try again later"
Trump has no more authority to ignore the election results than Mike Johnson does. And he really can’t do anything to the elections. (Ironically he may find he can’t vote by mail, thanks to the Sinister Six).
ReplyDeleteThe Democrats, as you say, need to pass laws and conduct investigations. Both activities may involve talking to Republicans. 🙀 That’s where the holier than Thou shoot themselves in the foot, insisting on no quarter while insisting Dems do everything. But Congress ain’t Parliament. And a large part of the problem has been Republicans running it as if it were.
Which is why they are so popular right now.
