Rick Perry never understood that, and tried to make it about oil because he was from Texas, and he was “Gov, Goodhair” (Molly Ivins). She meant that’s all his head was good for. Perry started us down this road of Energy Secretaries opining on gas prices, because they can’t really talk about the nuclear stockpile.
Chris Wright should be concerned with his department’s remit. He has as much authority over gas prices as he does over the phases of the moon.π
