"Which leg comes after which?"

I remember a really charming illustration from a children's book for this.
I couldn't find it.


If "boot" rhymes with "coot" and "foot" rhymes with "soot," why don't the rhyming pairs rhyme with each other?

I'm not sleeping much at night.....

  1. Next time you're having insomnia try coming up with a list of all the ways you can spell the sound of a long a in standard English spelling. I don't have my list anymore, I'm sure there were more than 20 of them, it was a long list. And that's not to mention the other vowels.
