Really can’t recommend this enough. https://t.co/JYyv84X1zR— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) June 8, 2020
Really helpful thread from @byaaroncdavis explaining what he and colleagues found in a minute-by-minute video analysis of what happened last week in Lafayette Square. https://t.co/Y6ayZd9asn— Rosalind Helderman (@PostRoz) June 8, 2020
Includes the detail that as they prepared for clashes, D.C. cops were told over their radios that CS teargas may soon be used. Reporters later found spent CS gas canisters at the scene. Authorities continue to deny it was fired. https://t.co/6STLfYdfux— Jon Swaine (@jonswaine) June 8, 2020
And Bunker Boi did a bunk!
Barr contradicts president's false claim that he went to the bunker during the day to "inspect." Barr confirms @peterbakernyt and me that it was in the evening, and in response to protests, in interview with @BretBaier— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) June 8, 2020
Another thing Barr's interview brings up — if the scene was so bad the Secret Service recommended the president go to the bunker (that was on Friday) why wasn't the perimeter cleared perhaps first thing Saturday morning? Why wait until Monday?
