The administration has been badmouthing this expert for months to varying degrees. The difference was quotes were all laid out and someone was authorized to discuss “concerns” about how often he had allegedly been wrong. https://t.co/y8U2zm60hr— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) July 13, 2020
And now that it's out in the open:
Amazing the WH comms shop is doing an oppo dump on its own, decades-long health expert in the middle of a pandemic. Everything to the WH is an up/down on Trump. https://t.co/o0bMU6Bdrc— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) July 12, 2020
The history just makes it worse.
“Despite claims early on in the fight against the virus that they enjoyed each other’s company, Mr. Trump has long been dismissive of Dr. Fauci in private, according to White House officials, taking note of the amount of time he spent on television...” https://t.co/qzdBsMBucx— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) July 13, 2020
Because, of course....
You know, after W. and now Trump, and the Trumpistas talking positively about Tucker Carlson in 2024 (oh, yes, they are), and the way so many GOP governors (Texas, Florida, AZ) are handling the pandemic, I would like to think the country would never again consider electing a GOP politician to be street sweeper, much less POTUS.
It's nice to have a dream.
