I think @RadioFreeTom may have jotted down a notw or two about this very concept.https://t.co/98KcibjyWO— Melissa Jo Peltier (@MelissaJPeltier) July 13, 2020
This "rejection of authority" goes back beyond Newt Gingrich to Barry Goldwater's supporters, who despised LBJ's cadre of experts implementing social justice and social programs from welfare to education to highway beautification to PBS, doing it all in the name of reason and statistics.
Which is pretty much the heritage of Rick Wilson and George Conway and Tom Nichols and all the "Never Trumpers" who now want to get rid of Trump. I stand with them, but I don't forget they were all for this, until the consequences caught up with them.
I mean, to go all Charlie Pierce on 'em....
Always gotta be careful what you wish for, lest you wind up getting it, and declaring it's not what you wished for (but you did. Consequences suck, huh?)
