Updated story: After #SCOTX rules against @TexasGOP, party leaders set to vote on holding a virtual convention https://t.co/9FY0EVNt2N— Cassi Pollock (@cassi_pollock) July 13, 2020
"....if they hadn't've pulled the Caine out of action!"
But they did, didn't they?
Earlier Monday, the all-Republican Texas Supreme Court dismissed an appeal by the party seeking to host the convention as scheduled in a 7-1 ruling. Justices also denied a similar petition spearheaded by other party officials and Steve Hotze, a conservative activist based in Houston. Later on Monday, a Harris County District Court also ruled against the party, effectively killing the party's chances of proceeding with its in-person gathering.Like I said, snowballs in hell had a better chance than these guys. And really, what was the point, after all?
I can't think of a better convention than no convention. Now, let's get rid of party platforms, the most absurd anachronism since caucuses.
Damn right!
