And isn’t that the difference now? Politicians who would howl (i.e., Republicans) are silent? Is the problem their silence, or that we take them as the barometer of civility and propriety? Maybe the real issue is why we do that; and what model of “objectivity” journalists have been following in reporting it.
In other words: is Trump really being "normalized"? Or have we rather "normalized" who declares what is an outrage, and what isn't? And just now we notice the dog isn't barking? Maybe it wasn't such a good watchdog after all....?
