If I understand the metaphor correctly (and I believe I do), won't God protect the faithful even within the furnace? So shouldn't this "furnace" be a chance for Perkins & Co. to prove God is both real and on their side? I know I'm being harsh, but I've really lost all patience with these clowns. Withdraw to the desert and declare your witness from there, if you think things are that bad. Eat locusts and honey for awhile; or don't. Just stop telling the world it has an obligation to make you happy.
