Well, sure....until they can't pay their teachers; their administrative staff; the janitors; the classroom aides; the food bills for the food in the cafeterias. Or something. If the school officials believe that are protecting public health -- that they are carrying out their responsibilities, and furthering the common good -- they will forgo the money. And sleep well. https://t.co/NIRlKe1dvM

It really is so much easier to tell other people they can do without the money that isn't being withheld from you.
This isn't personal, it's institutional. Does a school superintendent have the moral authority to tell the school nurses they're working for free now? The teachers? The staff? Maybe the superintendent can miss a paycheck or two, but what of those living from one paycheck to the next? The school officials may sleep well, but the rest of the employees of that school district?
Morality is always so much simpler when it involves you and him, but not me.
