Returning to the silence of Kellyanne Conway about Trump’s memo:Trump's latest response to the Jan. 6 committee reads like an 'insanity defense': former DOJ official https://t.co/Y1nkNHIERv

"Neil, starting with you, and starting with Trump's response to the committee," host Capehart began. "We can tell Trump probably wrote this response himself because it contains the word 'hoax' twice, 'radical left' twice, 'illegal' five times, '2020 presidential election' six times, and 'fraud' ten times -- but he never says if he will comply with the subpoena."
Yeah, Trump has practically walked away from his election fraud claims.
I just keep remembering the election when Harris County (Houston, mostly) went “blue.” Almost every Republican in office was turned out, including every incumbent judge. Democrats swept the board because the voters were sick of the GOP. GOP cranks ran insane fear campaigns about Drag Queen Story Hour (it was barely a local issue then) among scary statewide GOP campaigns about transgendered men going to women’s public restrooms to rape little 12 year old Jennifer.
Sound familiar? Except this time it’s a nationwide campaign about “Democratic judges “ releasing violent criminals on bond to murder us all and commit violence!
That’s literally the entire campaign of the GOP candidate for County Judge (CEO if the county, not a court bench). It is not in any sense a law enforcement position. The county funds the sheriff, but that’s a separate elected office. No one expects this campaign of fear and lies to work, but what else does the GOP have?
