What You Can’t Fix

Yes, we know how it works: So, is this corruption? Or no? Sounds a lot like old-fashioned machine politics to me; only Southern style. "Jim Crow" wasn't aimed just at blacks, but also at convincing poor whites their enemies were poor blacks, not the rich white men who exploited both colors of poverty. Not much difference here; plus Γ§a change, plus c'est la mΓͺme chose.

Which, yes, was corrupt, and was finally fixed by “reformers,” known in my childhood as “outside agitators” (we like things just the way they are ‘round here, an’ don’ need no outsiders comin’ ‘round agee-tatin’!’). So now we have to do it again. Again.

We usually do.

(And yes, this is gonna help DeSantis nationally the way “Bridgegate” helped Christie. Of course, Christie never had a snowball’s chance in hell anyway. DeSantis’ prospects are even lower. Florida’s problems are their own. They voted for the guy, and are probably going to do it again. Like the man said, you can’t fix stupid. I’ve lived in Texas long enough to know how true that is.)
