That needs to be stated kind of baldly so it’s clear. Trump has just a few days to respond to this opinion in a petition for writ of certiorari. Trump’s lawyers suck. And I doubt Trump can convince the Supreme Court otherwise; not even enough to make them want to hear the case. I mean, maybe there’s a good argument for strong Presidential immunity. I just don’t think Trump’s making it.The DC Circuit unanimously describes Trump's position as "irrational" and one that would permit a president to "commit all manner of crimes with impunity."
