Trump: "It can't be NATO because that's just not something that would ever ever happen. He couldn't. They couldn't do that. If you were Russia, who would want to have your enemy, your opponent, sitting on your line? You don't do that." pic.twitter.com/AzipFz9Blv

FOX: What was the reaction among European leaders when you decided to call Putin during your meeting?

TRUMP: I didn't do it in front of them. I thought that would be disrespectful to President Putin. pic.twitter.com/Rt7jJoKX9R
I can’t imagine where he gets these ideas.Trump blames Ukraine for getting invaded: "It's not a war that should've been started. You don't do that. You don't take on a nation that's 10 times your size ... they took probably a lot of money too." pic.twitter.com/5bbkMu934Z

Trump blames Obama for "giving" Crimea to Russia and adds, "Putin in all fairness to him, he made a good deal. He got it from Obama." pic.twitter.com/DTmANptYbs

Of all the things that didn’t happen….Trump does Putin apologia on Fox & Friends: "The war really started over NATO and Crimea. They wanted Crimea back. That was given, not a shot fired, by President Obama in perhaps the worst real estate deal I've ever seen ... they gave away a big percentage of their oceanfront… pic.twitter.com/ztC4hgGFxQ

Actually, this didn’t happen the most.Trump on Fox & Friends: "I've solved 7 wars. We ended 7 wars. I thought this would be one of the easier ones, and this has turned out to be the toughest one ... I hope President Putin is gonna be good ... President Zelenskyy has to show some flexibility also." pic.twitter.com/2Fmt1JDD6X

Although this is on the shortlist. As is this:Bessent: "Alaska was a show of force by President Trump ... it was kinda like inviting your uncontrollable neighbor to your house and showing them your gun case." pic.twitter.com/I8PYuM0vCG

Tell you what that is – that is really pretty remarkable," Scarborough said. "We were talking yesterday morning about, we said, a historic day in the White House, and then we said, well, we don't usually say that. Maybe it's an overstatement, but it was, as you said, historic.Oh, I’ll go ahead and say it: neither is this.
"You had the West there, you had the West there, and Vladimir Putin heard every one of the leaders in the West say, thank you for the security guarantee. Several bringing up Article 5. ... But that Article 5, that's them poking at Putin, saying, yeah, maybe they're not NATO, but they're going to get an Article 5-type guarantee, and again, you can't overstate it."
"Those European countries being there and an American president supporting this, it's not just good news for Ukraine," he added. "This is, you know, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, who are on the front lines. You look at Poland, who's constantly concerned about Russian aggression, thinking they're next. That is a great message for all of Europe that we're talking about that, and [Ukrainian President Volodomyr] Zelenskyy even talking about the possibility of a $90 billion military package."
Co-host Willie Geist agreed, saying that Trump had sided with Europe against Russia, whose leader he has been loath to criticize.
"Yeah, I mean, that's an extraordinary moment," Geist said. "We can talk about the details and what happens today and tomorrow and whether Vladimir Putin really is listening to any of it. But to see the western world, the leadership in one room and to be flies on the wall, the public got to hear all of that, too, and listen to peace talks, effectively, the beginning of them."
