???Sometimes a good cop just has to accidentally cancel child bystanders with his gun—but people criticizing me for writing this is the real cancel culture

Oh, NOW I get it.
— Asher Langton (@AsherLangton) December 31, 2021At first I thought it was just another variant on "the gun just went off!" Which doesn't happen with any other object or deadly weapon known to humankind. "And then the knife just slit his throat." "And then the arrow just leapt from the bow and pierced his eye." "And then the blunt instrument just hit him right on the back of the head."
But guns, you know, just go off. Or bullets kill people, all by themselves. Guns got rights, you know. They're creatures; or beings; or something almost human. We have to respect that.
I guess.
This popped up on my Google newsfeed a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteA USA Today Headline:
"3-year-old North Carolina girl who accidentally shot herself on Christmas dies"
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/12/30/north-carolina-toddler-accident-christmas-shooting/9054438002/
Three year old's don't "accidently" shoot themselves. Irresponsible adults leave loaded guns where three year old's can find them.
Journalism as the guardians of democracy and decency, too bad they can't be held to account at all, once in a while even a killer cop is.
