And how many people won't catch it (the metaphor, I mean)?  I'm guessing it means pretty much nothing to the people who would score "12" on this "test."

Is that a bug? Or a feature?  'Cause I don't see the benefit of either. (And yes, it's a badly mangled metaphor because "The Daily Beast" doesn't have a print edition.  But that's a problem for English majors like your humble host, and not for the general public.)
