No slight on the Rev. Moore to say he’s not hearing from a broad cross-section of Christian pastors. Is Christianity in crisis? Well, maybe the cultural dominance of evangelicals is coming to an end. But I wouldn’t conflate that with Christianity.“[Rev.] Russell Moore said ‘multiple pastors’ have told him … about being … questioned after their preachings on the Sermon on the Mount, [which] teaches people to ‘turn the other cheek.’ …

(And yes, I’ve seen worse. At my first church I was told by one member that he’d read the Bible long ago, and didn’t need to keep hearing about it anymore. He wasn’t leaving the church, he was trying to get me to stop basing my sermons on scripture. Christianity wasn’t in crisis, but that congregation was. I don’t mean to make a direct connection, but I was only there a year; and the church closed a few years later. It was failing when I got there, IOW.)
Baptized heathern, It's not any great surprise that Paul had a hard time with the churches he'd helped found, it's the human condition. I hope the fifty years of the media presenting white evangelicals and fascist trad. catholics as being the definition of Christianity is ending.
