Chutkan won’t act directly on this. There’ll be no hearing about it, no heavy handed ruling based on it.

But Trump’s lawyers’ motion for trial is dead on arrival.

She’ll be judicious about it. But Trump is cutting his own lawyers off at the knees. Not that they had a lot to stand on, anyway. And DOJ will get its trial date, if not an even earlier one.
