Truth be told, most people, if they are honest, consider “honesty” to be what they want to hear. I include myself in that. Whether we overcome it and truly seek honesty is our challenge.

Most of us don’t like challenges, certainly not as basic as that. So “honesty” seldom means hearing the truth, so much as “hearing what I want to hear.”

Which is pretty much how Trump’s supporters seem to function as his supporters, isn’t it? I mean, what other support do they have for Trump’s “honesty,” than they honestly like what he says?

“A man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest. Ooo la la la la la la la.” That, at least, is the definition of “honesty” we are working with here. Let he who is without this sin, cast the first stone.

Weather it’s Hillary Clinton, calling hard-core Trump supporters a basket of deplorables or Ron DeSantis, calling hard-core Trump supporters listless vessels, both candidates deserve scorn for giving accurate descriptions of hard-core Trump supporters.
