I know we’re supposed to wring our hands and fret over the assault on the rule of law and the dangers to democracy (has no one copyrighted that phrase yet?), and these should all be prime examples of the cause for our concern.

But these people are children whinging because they can’t get their way, and imagining authority is not responsibility, but power to do what they want: to lock up whom they please, humiliate who they like, punish as they see fit. They think that’s what the adults do, and they so badly want to be adults. But they are children; superannuated children who think the world is as simple as their imaginings. But they are only children.

Frankly, they’re pathetic.
