Habba: I think it should be a slam dunk in the supreme court. I have faith in them. You know, people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place. He'll step up. pic.twitter.com/gQo1h55t6N

Let’s back up a few hours:
She really does want to embody the “pretty is stupid” stereotype.Habba asked if Trump hired her because she’s hot: “I don’t think I’d be on TV or sitting here if I didn’t look the way I look. I think I caught attention. I’m very honest about that and I don’t mind. I’m not a feminist … You have to honest, it doesn’t hurt to be good looking.” pic.twitter.com/cCu2ObwwdI

One can certainly question what her strategy is here.Repeating from today's Countdown podcast:

Trump's surrogates are quietly THREATENING THE JUSTICES OF THE SUPREME COURT@AlinaHabba did this Wednesday as well https://t.co/MPbh2R1i2m
Yeah, sure:Habba: He's filing motions despite the fact that they said there is a stay. That is a complete disrespect to the order of law and the rule of law. There American people are not stupid. They’re afraid and they’re going to put their votes behind Trump because of it pic.twitter.com/cG1L7YlL7F

So, no, I don’t think many people are following the minutiae of a criminal trial. Or will pay any attention until the verdicts. It's worth remembering that while Trump gets focus in a relatively small subset of folks, he has not actually been front and center for the public since the J6 hearings. That will change in a general election. Via @IsaacDovere https://t.co/pFQh5E1m8G

Every time I hear her, I wonder if she can walk while chewing gum. And if she really likes it like that.Habba: Like the woman in we see in Maine who’s not even a lawyer who thinks she can find some obscure section of some statute and apply it to a former president pic.twitter.com/XxnwYCUTDW
— Acyn (@Acyn) January 5, 2024
Unless he hears his name mentioned, he won’t understand a word being said. He’ll also cost himself the appeal by undoubtedly pressuring his lawyers to make arguments he does understand. Like complaining about the DOJ giving his lawyers evidence in the D.C. case.Trump is preparing to attend the federal appeals argument on his previously denied claim of presidential immunity in Washington early next week, per 3 ppl familiar with the discussions https://t.co/CyyMaeCxXa
— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) January 3, 2024
Ditto what I just said, because he won’t understand what’s going on in closing arguments, and he won’t dare testify in the libel case. He went to Ireland to avoid it before. All he’ll do is waste the court’s time because he’ll want to talk about the immunity he doesn’t have and the libel he says he didn’t make. Neither if those will be issues in the trial. He also says he's planning to go to the closings in the NYAG case case, which wraps next week, and he says he will testify in the next E Jean Carroll case, which is between Iowa and NH (that's less clear) https://t.co/CyyMaeCxXa

Besides, this happened today:Trump’s attorneys are getting called out for mistakenly thinking the upcoming civil rape trial is another shot at rewriting history to clear Trump’s name, as opposed to what it is: a second lashing for running his mouth.https://t.co/vw0JEeAybe
— The Daily Beast (@thedailybeast) January 4, 2024
I don't bet, and I'd still put mony down that the Supremes deny cert. Meanwhile, Trump's reasoned response was:The federal appeals court in NY has *denied* Donald Trump's request for the full bench to hear his civil immunity appeal. This could be moving ot SCOTUS imminently. pic.twitter.com/WJ1eexPe33
— Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) January 3, 2024
He was at 31 early in the day. Late in the day, he'd added 16 more:Misogynistic pig Trump goes on absolutely bizarre and psychopathic posting spree for 20 minutes about E. Jean Carroll. It looks like he’s trying to say because she has posted and talked about sex in the past, it’s okay that he raped her. pic.twitter.com/dZYwtUs6jg
— Mike Sington (@MikeSington) January 4, 2024
Trump made 47 social media posts today about E. Jean Carroll.
— Ron Filipkowski (@RonFilipkowski) January 5, 2024
So far.
See? “…without fear of someone saying you defamed me.” If Trump testifies in the damages trial, he’ll insist he’s immune and it's all election interference and a witch hunt, and besides he doesn't even know E. Jean Carroll (47 posts about a perfect stranger? And no, being a perfect stranger is not a defense to libel, or to damages from the libel.)Habba: What I argue is not for President Trump, it’s for all presidents. We have to have them be able to govern this country in a way without fear of someone saying you defamed me, you put me in jail for the wrong reason, you were an insurrectionist.. pic.twitter.com/eR06VlGskH
— Acyn (@Acyn) January 5, 2024
Imagine Biden reacting this way from the Oval Office.Don't look away: This morning alone, Donald Trump has attacked E. Jean Carroll *31 times* already. Trump knows what he's doing & none of it is normal. E. Jean is everything Trump fears & Trump's attacks on her only prove how unhinged & unqualified for the presidency Trump is.

And the “pretty and stupid” keeps slapping us in the face:Asked about her Civil War/slavery comments debacle, Haley says "I had Black friends going up." pic.twitter.com/pFGbtoGFEm
— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) January 5, 2024
And then doubling down, to be sure we get the point:Kari Lake says “they” unleashed covid intentionally just to stop Trump from getting re-elected. pic.twitter.com/uOeVtkGpIw
— Ron Filipkowski (@RonFilipkowski) January 5, 2024
You gotta kind of wonder who's paying attention to that. And whether they should be allowed anything sharper than a rubber ball.Kari Lake says she is being sued by a Republican election official for defamation because Democrats are afraid of her: “They’re coming after me. They want to take the roof over my head for me having the courage to speak out and call out their corruption.” pic.twitter.com/DpGomLgl07
