Trump wants to disassemble the parts of government that oversaw his work as far back as the DOJ suit to enforce the Fair Housing Act against himself and his father. Elmo wants to whittle away the FAA so it will leave SpaceX alone to blow up rockets in peace.Trump wants to punish the FBI for searching MAL. Elmo wants to drown government in a bathtub so he can do whatever he wants.
And Elmo wants to do as he pleases with government without being encumbered by pesky things like laws. Trump thinks laws are clubs he gets to use on other people.
Why would anyone ever think they wanted to work with Congress? Not that it matters. The Senate has been rubber stamping Trump’s nominees, while the House has been out of session more than it’s been in. At least some GOP representatives are going to welcome the chance to get back to the Capitol.
