"What the fuck do I care? Did you see how much I just made on a fake coin that has no value? It’s like Tesla stock, but I don’t even have to build anything! Is this a great country, or what?”Welker: Are you worried about a recession?

Trump: No..
Welker: Do you think it could happen?
Trump: Anything can happen.. pic.twitter.com/idCz3JGt3z
But Joe Biden was old, right?I was losing thousands of dollars on trade with grocery stores and restaurants. Now I’m not doing business with grocery stores and restaurants. Therefore, I am saving thousands of dollars (and starving to death) https://t.co/qEObTLX4PW

“I’m not in charge. I just sign what they tell me to.”This is an absurd and weak deflection of responsibility. Imagine if the commander in chief were pawning off military decisions to his “generals.”

The president takes an oath to defend the constitution and faithfully execute our laws — nobody elected the lawyers working for him. https://t.co/k2Uy4V1vpp
So we got Scrooge McDuck? I knew he was a cartoon character, I just didn’t know which one. (I knew it wasn’t Ebenezer Scrooge. He was redeemable. Trump? Nah.)Once you realize dollars are more precious to Trump as pieces of paper in our hands rather than as a currency that we exchange for things we want and need, this idiocy makes sense. https://t.co/k1nE1oF4KR

Dear Media: Please be more sycophantic. Like Trump’s Cabinet.Trump: I want to have a unified country. It’s very hard because the media is so fake including the way you ask questions. “There’s a toy company that took a toddler’s whatever.” But you don’t talk about the fact that gasoline is down at numbers that nobody believes possible…… pic.twitter.com/CjRtzLw7fx

War is peace.Welker: We’re talking about your desire claim Canada, Greenland—
— Acyn (@Acyn) May 4, 2025
Trump: You forgot the Panama Canal
Welker: What do you to people who say they voted for you to end foreign conflicts not start them?
Trump: I don’t see that as conflict. I think that’s good for our country pic.twitter.com/savjTtvxNQ
I know you thought you heard what I said….Welker: So you are willing to send US Troops to claim a sovereign territory?
— Acyn (@Acyn) May 4, 2025
Trump: I didn’t say that. You asked me a question. Would you— is there a circumstance.. It could happen. I doubt it will but it certainly could happen with respect to Greenland. pic.twitter.com/ryo91pXsn2
George H.W. put his holdings into a blind trust (I remember because it was the first time I ever heard the term). Jimmy Carter did the same thing with the family peanut farm while he was President (for some reason I didn’t remember that). Trump is literally accepting bribes by companies and governments investing in his crypto coin. 🪙 And he knows it.Welker: You’re not profiting off of the cryptocurrency?
— Acyn (@Acyn) May 4, 2025
Trump: I haven’t even looked. If I own stock in something and I do a good job and the market goes up, I guess I’m profiting. But who really profits is someone like Pelosi who uses inside information. pic.twitter.com/rcEvcvW5zk
You gonna pay for this with your crypto? Because I’m pretty sure Congress hasn’t authorized it. And I’m pretty sure it’s not up to modern requirements:Trump says he’s reopening Alcatraz for prisoners. pic.twitter.com/eSJWWtUhTX

The prison cells typically measured 9 feet (2.7 m) by 5 ft (1.5 m) and 7 ft (2.1 m) high. The cells were primitive and lacked privacy. They were furnished with a bed, desk, washbasin, a toilet on the back wall, and few items other than a blanket. African Americans were segregated from other inmates. D-Block housed the worst inmates, and six cells at its end were designated "The Hole". Prisoners with behavioral problems were sent to these for periods of often brutal punishment. The dining hall and kitchen extended from the main building. Prisoners and staff ate three meals a day together. The Alcatraz Hospital was located above the dining hall.DOGE wouldn’t approve anyway, because it was insufficient to needs 62 years ago.
On March 21, 1963, USP Alcatraz closed after 29 years of operation. It did not close because of the disappearance of Morris and the Anglins (the decision to close the prison was made long before the three disappeared), but because the institution was too expensive to continue operating. An estimated $3-5 million was needed just for restoration and maintenance work to keep the prison open. That figure did not include daily operating costs - Alcatraz was nearly three times more expensive to operate than any other Federal prison (in 1959 the daily per capita cost at Alcatraz was $10.10 compared with $3.00 at USP Atlanta). The major expense was caused by the physical isolation of the island - the exact reason islands have been used as prisons throughout history. This isolation meant that everything (food, supplies, water, fuel...) had to be brought to Alcatraz by boat. For example, the island had no source of fresh water, so nearly one million gallons of water had to be barged to the island each week. The Federal Government found that it was more cost-effective to build a new institution than to keep Alcatraz open.Give Grandpa another pudding cup and send him back to his television. 📺
