Courage Is Contagious

FAKE NEWS! (The refrain running through Leavitt’s head.)
A joint statement from myself @SenMarkKelly , @RepJasonCrow , @RepDeluzio , @RepGoodlander and @RepHoulahan .

“We are veterans and national security professionals who love this country and swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. That oath lasts a lifetime, and we intend to keep it. No threat, intimidation, or call for violence will deter us from that sacred obligation.

“What’s most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law. Our servicemembers should know that we have their backs as they fulfill their oath to the Constitution and obligation to follow only lawful orders. It is not only the right thing to do, but also our duty.

“But this isn’t about any one of us. This isn’t about politics. This is about who we are as Americans. Every American must unite and condemn the President’s calls for our murder and political violence. This is a time for moral clarity.

“In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage. We will continue to lead and will not be intimidated.

“Don’t Give Up the Ship!”
Courage is contagious, but stupidity is just endemic to this Administration. “REMAIN CALM! ALL IS WELL!"

Vance reminds me of what Bannon said about Trump and the economy:
Pressed for what Trump should do to stop the slide that is freaking out GOP lawmakers, Bannon replied to an Axios inquiry with, “Let's run the table [with] a simple plan, aggressively executed. The President may have to bang some heads. [His] entire plan has an objective of GROWTH, JOBS, HIGHER WAGES — now execute."
Why he is taken seriously enough to even ask for a comment is beyond me. Trump has been in office 11 months, and gotten everything he wanted from Congress and the Sinister Six. “Execute” left the station months ago. C'mon! Walmart says you can afford it! Baby needs another Gatsby party!๐Ÿฅณ
Reporter: No matter what the order is… no matter if legal experts might think it's illegal, does the president expect those officials to go ahead with the orders regardless of any outside thinking?

Leavitt: The president expects his cabinet officials to follow the law and to demand accountability and hold people accountable for their dangerous rhetoric. If these were Republicans that urged defiance of orders from the president and chain of command, this entire room would be up in arms. Instead, it is the other way around. That's quite telling.
