Life In These United States

BASH: In July, 50% of the 50,000 people detained by DHS had no criminal record. You are comfortable with that?

MARKWAYNE MULLIN: That's actually not true. Every one of those criminals broke our nation's laws when they crossed our border illegally

BASH: But beyond that

MULLIN: What level of criminal activity are you willing to accept?
What level of ignorance in Cabinet Secretaries are we willing to accept?

Again, for the peanut gallery (and Dana Bash): entering the country without permission is a violation of civil, not criminal, law. Were it otherwise, every person Mullin’s ICE detained would be entitled to a trial before an Article III court; not just a perfunctory hearing in an immigration court run by the Administration.

Your reminder that Mullin is a plumber; he lacks the knowledge to oversee the DHS (which really should be abolished, but that’s another matter).
Slowly but surely, the emperor’s naked racism is discerned. So, as a U.S. citizen, I have nothing to fear from
ICE as long as I’m not a brown teenager? Who probably deserved it? Because, you know, he’s brown? And doesn’t have a regular ‘murican name like “Markwayne”?
*Taps the sign* The man shouldn’t be allowed anything sharper than a rubber ball. Can we start with you? Or do we just have to settle for the Republicans in Congress right now? Yeah, JD, what are the government’s plans? Rotting from the head, down.
