The wonder is the media dutifully playing stenographers and “gotcha!” as if that is real journalism. Although they do get frisky if you don’t let them into the White House. They do love to talk about themselves.

We could debate the distinction between “literally” and “genuinely,” but the real question is: if he wasn’t psychotic, would it make a difference?

It’s much easier to think of Trump as merely insane. When we understand that he actually has severe narcissistic psychosis, it becomes truly terrifying.

Even if we dare not call it “insane” or “psychotic,” can we at least ask why an 80 year old man is doing this? A man who is also POTUS? And by “we,” I mean the public discussion. The one carried out in print and on TV Abby officeholders.

Yup. Or, so long as he says it, it’s true. To him; and he’s all that matters. Yes, that is the essential problem. He’s not necessarily changing reality. He’s just insisting that he gets to define reality.
