“Cats know when you’re addressing them, they just may not care.” https://t.co/sK3PK2Lp1H— Ben Pershing (@benpershing) April 5, 2019
...I guess it's true. (Any semi-sentient cat owner could have told you that. I have some friends who adopted some cats from a family in Germany, when my friends lived in Germany. Took the cats awhile to learn English; until they did, they didn't understand a thing their new owners meant, including their names (no German accent, you see).).
I've had cats that differed enormously in their characters. I see one of those in the picture looks like a Maine coon cat, the one I had till last October had a far different personality from her daughter, a black short hair, who is very different. I think they're about as individual as people are.
ReplyDeleteThey are. I've had 6 cats in 40 years, everyone of them different, some of them frighteningly intelligent. One told us "goodbye" when we had to put him down. (Yea, I know, "subjective experience," says science. So is my love for my wife. It's still real.)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure our house rabbit Louis-Phillipe knows his name, since whenever he's out and about, and we can't find him, I sing out, "LU-weeee!" and he typically hops out from under whatever piece of furniture he happens to be gnawing on.
