So much winning!“It’s incredible to me that the federal government would see the necessity of bailing out airlines and banks,” a fifth-grade teacher in San Diego said, “and not see the need to do something similar for the public schools in this country” https://t.co/FVos0FLmOD— The New York Times (@nytimes) July 10, 2020
Federal funding mostly pays for lunches for children who can't afford lunch; oh, and breakfast, too. It provides some funding for education in the classroom, but the bulk of that expense is still borne by the states. And, as I keep saying, that money is already in the pipeline. Trump doesn't have the power to cut it off and even if he did, he wouldn't have the power to claw it back. Now that we have witnessed it on a large scale basis, and firsthand, Virtual Learning has proven to be TERRIBLE compared to In School, or On Campus, Learning. Not even close! Schools must be open in the Fall. If not open, why would the Federal Government give Funding? It won’t!!!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 10, 2020
It really would be nice to have a POTUS who knew what he was doing.
