Trump says he might put his own money into 2020 bid — “if I have to, I will" — as Bill Stepien doesn't deny cash crunch, w/ @maggieNYT https://t.co/6gFbIitaIS— Shane Goldmacher (@ShaneGoldmacher) September 8, 2020
Considering how he treated campaign funds the way he treated donations to his charity (i.e., as his own slush fund in both cases), this assertion is positively laughable.
Without naming him, the president is validating the $100 mill in ad spending under Parscale when he was campaign manager - and possibly trying to keep from further alienating someone who has seen a lot. https://t.co/KxdXhAZukd— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) September 8, 2020
That analysis makes a LOT more sense. So does this one:
Note, Trump is making this claim not because it's true, but because he needs donors to believe he has skin in the game and is not bilking them. https://t.co/gowjAKQyMm— emptywheel (@emptywheel) September 8, 2020
