Reminds me of Marvin Zindler's interview of a Pearland farmer fifty years ago who bribed a police officer to overlook the cock fight he regularly hosted in his barn. When the operation got busted the farmer was so incensed that he insisted upon telling his side of the story about how horrible it was that a cop who accepted bribes couldn't be relied upon to stay bribed.
