Abolish ICE. Abolish SOTU. Let the next President send Congress a PDF. Congress doesn’t have to host this thing. Reassert Congressional priority. It is Art. I, the longest and most complex in the Constitution. Art. II requires the POTUS report to Congress on “the state of the union”  “from time to time.” It doesn’t require Congress to put on an obsequious dog and pony show.

Some of the “cherished institutions” Trump is driving into the ground deserve to be reformed out of existence thanks to him. The SOTU as we know it is one of them.
