Is adding “-ization” to words a dementia related thing? Seriously, is it?Trump, slurring: Impersonization schemes. The schemes that the use for... impersonization https://t.co/k5upXP8Ys9

Trump’s record is skipping. Again.TRUMP: We gave nothing in exchange for Stephen. We never give anything in exchange for hostages. TRUMP LITERALLY MOMENTS LATER: If I implemented sanctions on Russia, Steven wouldn't be coming out right now. https://t.co/pY3Ria2BEA

All in the same press conference. Last night:On Iran, Trump says: Russia and China have not participated, or participated in a much smaller way than they could have. Then:it's honestly kind of amazing how Trump holds events like this one at the White House daily and almost every time nobody really knows what the point of them is. Why is this happening? Is there any purpose beyond the optics of looking busy?

"Is adding “-ization” to words a dementia related thing? Seriously, is it?"
ReplyDeleteit appears so. paraphasia and perseveration, inventing words/neologisms, etc, all of a piece. my late wife had what was characterized as early onset dementia, and she did that shit a lot as her cognition deteriorated (along with emotional dysregulation, which is why trump triggers me something fierce).
Thanks, I thought it might be something like that. And my condolences. I had a few church members decline from Alzheimer’s or some type of dementia, and lost my sister-in-law to it. Not Alzheimer’s, although it was organic in nature. But she lost her ability to speak, slowly but surely. And emotional issues, hallucinations especially. It is very hard to deal with, even from a remove. But harder still when it is so personal.
