'Round and 'round the mulberry bush


The monkey chased the weasel.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. What is ridiculous is "looking at that very seriously."  The closer you look at it, the clearer it is, and the less likely it is to change.  But that' s not the most ridiculous thing Trump said this morning.

The monkey thought it was all in fun.

This is as empty-headed and pointless as the jingle, or what he said about birthright citizenship.  Short of Trump flying the plane himself, after loading all the ISIS fighters, and then clandestinely landing in Germany and France and "other places" (all of which are "Europe," though he doesn't seem to know that) and shoving those people off the plane, he's not going to release anyone into any country where that individual has been refused entry.  Period.  End of discussion.*  This is pure mindless drivel, from the holder of the highest office in the land.

Pop! goes the weasel!

"Just remember I said it," is all he really wants you to know.   That's that really matters, right?  That he said it; the rest is just persiflage and laws and regulations and the function of government and the Constitution, but who needs that?  Trump said it!  That's all you need.

That and to get the POTUS a bib.  He's drooling again (might as well call it what it is).

*because it's a violation of federal law and international law and (probably) several treaties, and nobody in government is going to go to jail for trying to carry out that order (or be permitted to use government property to do so, which would involve many more people in the criminal conduct).
