I’m beginning to see a pattern here.We used to judge Supreme Court nominees on the basis of qualifications, character, and fitness. In 1987, Judiciary Committee Chairman Joe Biden changed the rules and decided the Senate should impose a political/ideological test. And here we are.

Definitely seeing that pattern now. Although I think the worst possible scenario is a killer asteroid heading for earth that no one will do anything about. Oh, wait, that’s a Netflix movie. Still definitely the worst case scenario.I wrote about the worst possible scenario in “Wait, what” in @TheAtlantic https://t.co/3BwVcgBnAo

Evans nonetheless defended her decision to post false information about the school district and she said she was "merely relaying information" she'd heard from another parent.
'I see what you did there': Jen Psaki cracks up White House reporters by mocking Peter Doocy's trick question https://t.co/BL0scqwE4Z

Well, just wondering hypothetically, theoretically, would someone who was an attorney general of a large state and who served with many key Senate votes be an attractive candidate?" Doocy asked, clearly referring to Harris."I see what you did there, Peter," Psaki deadpanned as reporters could be heard laughing. "But the president has every intention -- as he said before -- of running for re-election and for running for re-election with Vice President Harris on the ticket as his partner."
You really should just read the article. To give you an incentive:Reporter pushing right-wing talking points can’t answer Jen Psaki's basic questions about themhttps://t.co/owADWCwEI5

Yeah; it’s that bad. (And it proves news is just gossip. You know, some people say.)This is the best part. We’ve all been there when a teacher catches us, when a parent is calling us out. Why is it human instinct to look up at the wall/ceiling like an answer is written there for us. 🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/NCRezQjJed

So was the Bork nomination. He wasn’t fit to sit on the bench, much less the highest court. EOD.Some seem to think what happened to Bork was normal. It wasn't normal. It was a deliberate change in norms, an escalation. Read the Senate debates. Read the (great) account by progressive activists involved The People Rising. It was a change. You can like it! But it was a change.
