Except Kristen Sinema is no Jimmy Stewart. No one sees her as standing in the breach between the "both sides" of Republicans who like the fact the Roberts Court gutted the VRA on the altar of "States rights", and what she deems is feckless Democratic leadership. This leaves her nicely innocent and wholly undburdened by responsibility for the courageous moral stance she must take, voting like a Republican while claiming not to be one of "those" Democrats. You know, the ones not showing "leadership." She leads by making sure the status quo is preserved because....well, because she's actually Claude Rains.Sinema is disappointed that the Republicans responsible for voting restrictions don't support curtailing voting restrictions https://t.co/QPWT8Vih8e

Jimmy Stewart, it should be noted, is dead. His character in the movie was fictional. The Senator played by the late Mr. Rains is brought to life, IRL, by Sen. Sinema. Who, like Mr. Rains' character, is only doing it for the good of the country.
She is so virtuous dirt and sweat almost disdain to be anywhere near her.
