There Is A ‘Tell’

Amazing how deranged they become as they see the victory they thought they’d secured slipping from their grasp. First they insist they are the “Silent Majority” (Nixon used the term to declare he had support for his policy on the war in Vietnam. 6 years later the war was over, and barely a noisy minority objected.). And then they claim their opponents (a distinct minority, they insist) want abortions up to the moment of birth. Trump even claims they want them after birth (rendering the term, which refers to ending a pregnancy prematurely, irrelevant).

What doctor would do this, what hospital sanction it, goes unmentioned. What the medical procedure even is, and how it could justifiably be performed during labor unless it would be to save the mother because the fetus is already dead, and the birth itself now a septic situation. Should we rather say, let the mother die? Does the majority, silent or otherwise, really want to see deaths from childbirth rise again?

The decision, as ever, must be between the mother and her doctor. It beggars the imagination that a doctor and a hospital would abort labor just because the mother doesn’t want to finish the process.

But these people know reality doesn’t favor them, so they hope to create one that will. It’s the only hope their cause has.
