I’m sympathetic to voices that say the trials must be transparent, and so televised. Georgia will televise the trial; it’s in the law. But real trials are not TeeVee trials. And the Hunter Biden plea deal was all but televised, and and nobody is really sure what happened. Besides, Garland appointed a special counsel, and now that’s what’s wrong. Imagine how “clarifying” the daily plod of the trial will be. Nobody’s going to sit down and watch it hour by hour. Even if someone does, it will still be a report of what was said, not just a transcript of the day.
People see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear. Aaron Sorkin won’t be writing the scripts.
