🍒ðŸĨ§

“The line between a normal, functioning society and catastrophic decivilization can be crossed with a single act of mayhem,” LeFrance warned readers on Wednesday. She pointed out that the conditions that made a society susceptible to violence include “highly visible wealth disparity, declining trust in democratic institutions, a heightened sense of victimhood, [and] intense partisan estrangement.”
"Among white people."

Those conditions existed in the ‘60’s, but the threat of violence was seen as coming from the Black Panthers or Malcolm X (I’m talking about perceptions), although I’ll say more people were upset by Mayor Daley and the Democratic Convention than by Selma or the even the church bombings. That was practically in another country (perceptions again), but Chicago was “middle America.” It pointed to “catastrophic decivilization.”

Ox. Gored. Whose?

Over and over and over again.

Violence is still as American as cherry pie ðŸĨ§ So is service to the rich. ðŸĪ‘ And it’s still just a matter of who the victim is.

Direct the axe 🊓 to the root of the tree.
