Energy did it. And actually gas was $2.14 in 2016, and rose to $2.72 in 2018. It dropped to $2.17 during Covid. The last time gas was close to $1.84 was 2004.

“Groceries” is an “old-fashioned word” because he eats in his restaurants every night. Man o’ the people!
