It’s the “honest engagement” narrative I don’t understand. Maybe it’s because Kirk was sitting on a table with a sign “DEBATE ME” taped to it. Even the student who asked him the last question before he was killed was a fan. He wasn’t debating Kirk; he was trying to get wisdom from him.
Kirk hated debate. All he recognized was agreement. Those who disagreed with him were “living in an alternate universe,” and deserved to be excluded from public discourse and decision making. Other people deserved to die simply because of who they were. Hell, there’s plenty of evidence of what Charlie Kirk thought about people he didn’t agree with. He made his living, and his reputation, being very publicly clear about that.
And he had Trump’s ear, and acted as Trump’s mouthpiece. And when has Donald Trump ever sought sincere debate or invited the opinions of others?
It’s not speaking ill of the dead to remember what they said in life. Just because he was murdered, we aren’t required to valorize him.He just comes out and says it: the radicals on the left are bad, but the radicals on the right? "I couldn't care less." In fact, he makes clear he agrees with them. https://t.co/SJolv0ChKs
